A Stochastic Stefan Problem
We consider a stochastic perturbation of the Stefan problem. The noise is Brownian in time and smoothly correlated in space. We prove existence and uniqueness and characterize the domain of existence.
متن کاملNonlinear Two-Phase Stefan Problem
In this paper we consider a nonlinear two-phase Stefan problem in one-dimensional space. The problem is mapped into a nonlinear Volterra integral equation for the free boundary.
متن کاملNewton-Product Integration for a Stefan Problem with Kinetics
Stefan problem with kinetics is reduced to a system of nonlinear Volterra integral equations of second kind and Newton's method is applied to linearize it. Product integration solution of the linear form is found and sufficient conditions for convergence of the numerical method are given. An example is provided to illustrated the applicability of the method.
متن کاملOn a Model of Phase Relaxation for the Hyperbolic Stefan Problem
In this paper we propose and study the nonlinear model for phase transition phenomena given by ∂t(θ + χ) + div q = f in Q := Ω×]0, T [, (1.1) α∂tq + q = −∇θ in Q, (1.2) ε∂tχ + χ ∈ γ(θ) in Q. (1.3) Here Ω is a bounded domain in R, T > 0 is a final time, and θ, χ : Q −→ R, q : Q −→ R are the unknown functions of the problem. The symbols ∂t, div , and∇ represent respectively the time derivative, t...
متن کاملAutomatic Control via Thermostats of a Hyperbolic Stefan Problem with Memory
A hyperbolic Stefan problem based on the linearized Gurtin{Pipkin heat conduction law is considered. Temperature and free boundary are controlled by a thermostat acting on the boundary. This feedback control is based on temperature measurements performed by real thermal sensors located into the domain containing the two{phase system and/or at its boundary. Three di erent types of thermostats ar...
